Sloth Sunday: Bark x 2

IMG_0319Sunday was a Sloth Sunday.  It felt like the night lasted FOREVER, even with the dog barking at me to let her out of the bedroom. She could have opened the door herself.   My quads are sore from the trail race.  You can read that recap here.

The rest of Sunday was spent cleaning up the house a bit and running some errands.  Then we went to see Argo.  Highly recommend before it leaves theaters.  It was very good.  And the Amazing Race finale!

Another brief update on Saturday.  It was Cookie Day, which is a long-standing tradition with family and friends. You get together to eat, drink and make Christmas Cookies.  Then everyone gets a holiday plate and fills it up with the different cookies to take home.  I made Peppermint Bark and brought it with me. It is getting rave reviews.  I used this recipe.

I feel like I have kicked by blahs to the curb and am ready to have a good week!  I am looking forward to an early morning run to start things off on the right foot!

Wednesday: No, No and No

Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now.No, I haven’t seen Skyfall or Twilight.

No, I didn’t run today.  I walked 3 miles.

No, I haven’t started packing yet.  How long can it take to pack a pair of jeans, two sweaters and some jammies?

There will be (should be) large amounts of beer and wine this weekend.  Or people other than me will suffer.

It was hair appt day.  It is different than it was before.  It took FOREVER.  The girl was very nice, but very slow.

The rest of the day was work, taking care of some paperwork and the 3 mile walk.

Thursday brings another double run attempt, dropping the dogs off at camp and a trip out to my parents before we head East for Thanksgiving.  And packing.

Tuesday: Space Issues and Selling Hollywood

First, I want to express thanks that everyone I know in the Northeast is safe.  They didn’t all get through without some sort of impact (garages, hot tubs, power and some flooding).  But everyone (so far) is ok.

I was up on time Tues morning!  A small but important victory.  Since Tues was a non-running day, I could enjoy my coffee before heading on my bike.  Once the sun was up, I suited up and headed out.

Bike: 10 miles / 50:30

Eating on Tues was much improved.  I had coffee and part of a Costco muffin for breakfast.  Spaghetti O’s (with meatballs) and veggie sticks for lunch.  THE lunch of champions.  Carrots and a peach in the afternoon.  Dinner was Trader Joe’s Orange Chicken and Vegetable Fried Rice. Much, much improved.

I was somehow inspired to do some straightening up in the afternoon.  Our closet has a chest of drawers in it.  And I don’t want to get too used to having that extra space since we are just renting right now. So I rearranged some of my dresser to make better use of space.  It won’t stay this neat for long, but it looks nice now.  I tackled 6 of 9 dresser drawers.  The rest are coming.  And I do have MUCH more space than when it was a big mess.

Did anyone else see the big entertainment news from Tues?  Disney buys LucasFilms for $4 BILLION.  Because Lucas didn’t have enough money before this.

Sloth Sunday: My own mess..

Between the extended trailer for Les Mis (Christmas Day) and the extended trailer for Cloud Atlas (Oct 26), I am a mess. I don’t know how I will make it through either of these movies.

I would love to read Cloud Atlas before seeing the movie, but I don’t think I have time for that.  I may see if my sister wants to see it on Wed (so if you reading this, hint hint!).

Today was, as per the title, Sloth Sunday.  I cleaned the bathrooms, went to the grocery store.  And then we had some very nice people work in our yard.  We are extremely pleased at the work they did and even though we are renting, will have them come back again.

Food was nothing exciting except that I made cinnamon apples in the crock pot.  I did cut them a little small, but they were amazing. A little bit bigger and they will hold their shape and be even more amazing.

Oh, and I signed up for the 10k in a week.  Did I ever mention that I once hit a hole in one in golf?  I know, it seems to be a big deal to everyone but me. It was a 90-something yard par 3.  Well, once I hit the thing, I quit playing golf.  How does it get any better than that?  So I told Michael tonight.  If I manage to PR in my three distances all in the same year, 5k (check) , 10k (next weekend), and half (1st weekend of Dec), that I will quit running. I was kidding, but really.  How do you top that?  I may be getting ahead of myself.

Enjoy the trailers.  Or, if you are like me, have a few tissues handy.

Long Run Saturday

Random photo of the day.

I just plain old forgot to post yesterday.  Strange.  There wasn’t too much to report.

Today is Long Run Saturday and I just got in 6 miles.  Slow, but done.  Now it will be tennis watching and errands.  VERY exciting day.

I started moving some movies to my computer last night.  You know, when you buy the DVD and it says it comes with a Digital or UV copy.  Jesus, could they make it any harder?  One went straight to iTunes.  Good.  The others had to go through Sony or Flixster, each one wanting a sign on and password of their own.  Good grief.  I will just start buying the cheapest DVDs and downloading the digital copies from iTunes.  Save the hassle.
