Tuesday: I Want YOU

Because soaring with the eagles requires so much more effort.Tuesday started with a TORTUROUS 6 miles in the dark. The best part of it was remembering that I had a pink Glo Stick to take with me!  The 6 miles were slow, awkward, painful and hard.  But I still got them done.

And then I was gently pushed (guilted?) into going to CrossFit.  Really, I decided to go because it was all lifting and had nothing to do with burpee’s, squats or lunges.  It was Press, Push Press, Jerks and Power Cleans.  And DU’s, which I can’t do.  Well, my lifting form seems to be A-Ok because I was told I could graduate from the beginner class to the regular class (all about form, not about how much weight I can lift).  They are kicking me out of CrossFit 101!  But they can’t make me go.  Hell no, I won’t go.  Hell no….  I like the beginner class. See, I really do aim to underachieve.

Run: 6 miles / 1:13

The rest of Tuesday was spent in a process modeling software training class (try to control your jealousy.  It was NOT awesome) and watching more Jack Bauer and Season 3 of 24.  Come on Chloe, whose baby is that really?

Since I ran 6 miles Tuesday AND went to CrossFit, I was pretty much able to eat anything I wanted on Tuesday.  It went like this: breakfast was coffee and half a Costco Apple muffin.  Lunch was a chicken sausage and an apple.  Dinner was Bertolli Garlic Shrimp Risotto with some extra shrimp added in.  And a small glass of wine. That left me with at least 600 more calories to eat and I am not sure if I got there.  Our new FroYo place opened and I had some Salted Caramel FroYo with Heath Bar added. But I didn’t finish it all and gave it to Michael.

IMG_0309I am waging a war on our HOA.  We are renting, so I am not sure why I have to deal with the HOA.  But they fined us for having “debris” in our yard (we do NOT) and then the pictorial proof they provided was a picture from August.  WTF?  If you want to serve in my anti-HOA army, send me a message or leave a comment.   All are welcome.

Saturday: Decisions

Some things can not be overcome with determination and a positive attitude.It became apparent as Saturday went along that the Sunday race was not going to be possible.  Every once in a while, my leg would jerk uncontrollably like a puppet on a sting.  It is just some serious quad and glute muscle soreness.  So be it.

Sister and Husband are still running the Fiesta Bowl Half and that means that BIL and I get to be Sherpas, Cheer Zone and breakfast buds!  WAHOO!

I still have a 6 mile trail run planned for Sunday, once DH is carefully deposited on the couch and in a coma, and the 5 mile trail race next weekend.  The McDowell Mountain Frenzy.

Damn the CrossFit.  I will see you on Tuesday.

Thursday: Locked Up Abroad

It was another happy, productive day!  I don’t know if it was the Starbucks K-Cup, switching back to my GNC vitamins, or some combination of both, but I was WIRED on Thursday.  I was doing laundry, doing the winter decorating, working, cleaning. all at the same time.

And in all of that madness, THIS cat (Pumpkin) got locked in the coffee table.  I laughed.  It was much funnier than it sounds.  I only had the thing open for like  2 minutes.  How did her exceptionally round (and slow) ass get by me? But you have read about her.  Nothing ruins her mood.  She came out purring.

Crossfit: Bar squats, lunges, kettlebell squats, swings, press and jerk and Russian twists.  OUCH.  I didn’t even make it through all of the lunges.

I stayed on track with food. In fact, I have been on track since Monday.  My wired-self missed breakfast except for the coffee so I went straight to lunch.  Chicken and a sweet potato.  Then I had a trail mix bar before CrossFit.  And 3 beef taquito’s with salsa and Mich Ulta.

Sometime Fri or Sat, I have to decide about the half marathon on Sunday.  Let see how the legs feel after that CrossFit workout.

Wednesday: Odds and Shine - My early condolences on not winning the lottery later tonight.You can’t win if you don’t buy a ticket!

Another double run complete!  CrossFit made my legs sore, but I still managed to get both runs in Wednesday.  Neither was especially speedy, but I am after miles right now and not speed.  I am actually thinking about taking Thursday morning off and then heading to CrossFit later in the day.

Run:  5 miles / 57:56

Run: 4 miles / 46:42

When we were back in NC, we got sucked into Moonshiners on The Discovery Channel.  I know, this is the second season, but we are catching up fast.  Maybe it is because we lived in that same general area for so long, but this show is REALLY funny.  And Michael and I are going to be Tim and Tickle next Halloween.  I mean come on, who doesn’t love Tim and Tickle?

Tuesday: Who knew - I do Crossfit and bake cookies.

That my hanging power cleans were so good!  My HSPU’s, not so much.  But I tried.

And none of that Paleo stuff.  Cavemen didn’t live any longer and they weren’t any happier.

I went back to CrossFit Tues night. I had a Living Social deal at CrossFit Full Strength and there was a Crossfit 101 class that sounded like my speed.  Thank you to Coach Emily at CrossFit Full Strength for working with me!  I will be back on Thurs.

Crossfit 101

Nothing too exciting to report on the rest of the day.  Except, who the !@#$% is voting on The Voice that they sent Cody home?  Really people…

I had a protein bar for breakfast, french onion soup and veggie straws for lunch and a pork chop and broccoli for dinner.  Then I had a scoop of my snack mix.  And a glass (5 ounces) of wine.
