Thursday: Uninspired

IMG_2175I have been truly uninspired this week.  I did try to run on Thurs, on the treadmill, and made it about a mile.  The knee was still hurting so I called it quits and did some weights instead.  Then a really poor choice of shoes made it hurt for the rest of the day.  I absolutely believe that the knee issue is actually secondary to a quad issue. Remember all of those CrossFit squats and lunges?  I think that is where I started.  NO, I am not blaming CrossFit.  I have exceptionally bad form when it comes to squats and maybe it was just too much.  REST it is.

Run:  1 mile / 10:54

And if you are reading this, then we are all still here.  So there is that. Sorry to the Mayans for being wrong.

Thursday night we did go to see Lincoln and it was very, very good.  A political drama on how he got the 13th Amendment passed.  So please don’t go expecting a Civil War movie or you will come out disappointed.

Just one more work day until vacation!

OH, and don’t forget that this weekend is my big bike ride to my sister’s house.  My dearest, sweetest husband was laughing at me Thurs night at the idea that I might not just ride back.

Wednesday: No, No and No

Hard work often pays off after time, but laziness always pays off now.No, I haven’t seen Skyfall or Twilight.

No, I didn’t run today.  I walked 3 miles.

No, I haven’t started packing yet.  How long can it take to pack a pair of jeans, two sweaters and some jammies?

There will be (should be) large amounts of beer and wine this weekend.  Or people other than me will suffer.

It was hair appt day.  It is different than it was before.  It took FOREVER.  The girl was very nice, but very slow.

The rest of the day was work, taking care of some paperwork and the 3 mile walk.

Thursday brings another double run attempt, dropping the dogs off at camp and a trip out to my parents before we head East for Thanksgiving.  And packing.

Wednesday: Missing the Mark

I am having the hardest time getting up while it is still dark.  Once again, I turned off my alarm and went back to sleep.  Missed the mark.  It doesn’t help that this guy (Solo) has suddenly discovered that he wants to snuggle.  On my lap, in the chair, on the couch, in the bed.  It is hard to leave that.  The good news is (to me) that I am not in danger of being late for anything and still have time for my runs.

Wednesday, I was even MORE sore from the Crossfit workout on Monday. But I got out there anyway and knew just about everything would feel better once I got going.  And it did.

https://i2.wp.com/www.toothpastefordinner.com/081909/trouble-waking-up-in-the-morning.gifRun: 6 miles/1:10.  Right on target for this week.  The Garmin said 1:14 because someone on rollerblades with a dog stopped me on the street with TWO TENTHS OF A MILE left and wanted to talk to me.  The dogs name was Milly.  I always remember the names of the dogs.  But I forgot to pause the Garmin.

Wednesday was another one of those bottomless pit days.  And then when I sent Michael to pickup pizza on his way home, they claimed I had never placed the order and then tried to tell him I must have called a different location.  Uh, no I didn’t.  H0w about the girl who answered the phone was a moron and never put in the order?  So he ended up going to a different pizza place instead.

The rest of Wednesday was consumed by Top Chef and Life After Top Chef.  Why do they always say that dishes “missed the mark?”  What was the mark?

Who is in line for Breaking Dawn Part 2?  Not here.  I will admit that we have seen all of the movies, but on DVD.

Tuesday: Space Issues and Selling Hollywood

First, I want to express thanks that everyone I know in the Northeast is safe.  They didn’t all get through without some sort of impact (garages, hot tubs, power and some flooding).  But everyone (so far) is ok.

I was up on time Tues morning!  A small but important victory.  Since Tues was a non-running day, I could enjoy my coffee before heading on my bike.  Once the sun was up, I suited up and headed out.

Bike: 10 miles / 50:30

Eating on Tues was much improved.  I had coffee and part of a Costco muffin for breakfast.  Spaghetti O’s (with meatballs) and veggie sticks for lunch.  THE lunch of champions.  Carrots and a peach in the afternoon.  Dinner was Trader Joe’s Orange Chicken and Vegetable Fried Rice. Much, much improved.

I was somehow inspired to do some straightening up in the afternoon.  Our closet has a chest of drawers in it.  And I don’t want to get too used to having that extra space since we are just renting right now. So I rearranged some of my dresser to make better use of space.  It won’t stay this neat for long, but it looks nice now.  I tackled 6 of 9 dresser drawers.  The rest are coming.  And I do have MUCH more space than when it was a big mess.

Did anyone else see the big entertainment news from Tues?  Disney buys LucasFilms for $4 BILLION.  Because Lucas didn’t have enough money before this.

Sloth Sunday: My own mess..

Between the extended trailer for Les Mis (Christmas Day) and the extended trailer for Cloud Atlas (Oct 26), I am a mess. I don’t know how I will make it through either of these movies.

I would love to read Cloud Atlas before seeing the movie, but I don’t think I have time for that.  I may see if my sister wants to see it on Wed (so if you reading this, hint hint!).

Today was, as per the title, Sloth Sunday.  I cleaned the bathrooms, went to the grocery store.  And then we had some very nice people work in our yard.  We are extremely pleased at the work they did and even though we are renting, will have them come back again.

Food was nothing exciting except that I made cinnamon apples in the crock pot.  I did cut them a little small, but they were amazing. A little bit bigger and they will hold their shape and be even more amazing.

Oh, and I signed up for the 10k in a week.  Did I ever mention that I once hit a hole in one in golf?  I know, it seems to be a big deal to everyone but me. It was a 90-something yard par 3.  Well, once I hit the thing, I quit playing golf.  How does it get any better than that?  So I told Michael tonight.  If I manage to PR in my three distances all in the same year, 5k (check) , 10k (next weekend), and half (1st weekend of Dec), that I will quit running. I was kidding, but really.  How do you top that?  I may be getting ahead of myself.

Enjoy the trailers.  Or, if you are like me, have a few tissues handy.
