I have really been enjoying my 5 and 6 mile runs lately. I NEVER would have thought that my SHORT runs would be 5 and 6 miles. And I have really been dreading the longer runs. Anything over about 90 minutes has me cringing. I am not sure what to do about that right now. Thurs morning was COLD and I thought it would be slow, but it wasn’t too bad.
Run: 6 miles / 66:50
Food Thurs was a muffin for breakfast with my coffee. Then I had leftover jambalaya for lunch. Some snack mix and the rest of my mango smoothie from Tues. It was in the freezer so I ate it like an Italian Ice! There was a peach and then leftover Korean Spicy Beef!
I also updated the book page. I have been trucking right along in my reading, although not as fast as last year. There are some great books on that list and some so-so books. Take a peek and take your pick!
Today was a day that I didn’t really want to head out and do anything. But eventually I climbed into some non-pj’s and onto my bike. I told myself I would just be casual about it. Then I managed to find the hilliest 6 mile route in my area! It was fun.

Today was date night. I am not a fan of the idea of dating my own husband. Isn’t part of the point of getting married that you don’t have to date anymore? I don’t like the pressure. Anyway, he left work early and wanted to try a new (every place is new to us) place called the China Blossom Noodle Cafe.
It was incredible. The waitress looked at Michael like he was crazy when he ordered a soup and Pad Thai. Yes, I am not the only one that thinks soup is a meal! I had the potstickers and the Korean Spicy Beef. And a little of Michael’s soup. It was cheap considering we had 2 beers, 2 appetizers and basically 3 entrees. We will definitely go back.
Are you watching the baseball? We moved on to something else in the 5th inning. I don’t really care who wins, but I don’t need to watch a blowout.
My What I Ate post. I haven’t done this in a while. And you get to join in on the fun. Just click on the button to take you to the site and see what others are having. Or add your own! It will be Tuesday’s food. Enjoy.
Breakfast: Coffee and a chocolate chip muffin.
Lunch: Leftover Jambalaya
Snacks: Apple, Mango smoothie, snack mix.
Dinner: Pork chop with heinz 57, sweet potato and steamed veggies.
Since the 4 miles on Monday yielded no ill-effects, I set out on Tues for 5miles. I headed out before sunrise to make sure I got the 5 in before my 7am meeting. I work best under tight timelines. So I was really pushing the pace (for me) to get back to the house in time for the conference call. I got back at 6:50am and immediately found out the meeting was pushed to 8am. Oh well. Thanks for the motivation to push the pace.
The other funny from this particular morning was that I was locked in my neighborhood. We live in a gated community and the gates were still closed when I got to the front and even the side gate was locked! I was trapped!!! But just a few minutes later the gates opened and I was released. I did consider rolling myself under the gate, but it turned out to not be necessary. Does my shape even roll?
Run: 5miles / 55:20
I did better with food today. Breakfast was coffee and a chocolate chip muffin (ok, not better). Lunch was leftover jambalaya. There was an apple, half of a mango smoothie and some snack mix. Then dinner was a pork chop with some Heinz 57, a sweet potato and a steamed veggie mix. And white wine.
I am a closet internet shopper. Ok, so not so closeted. But I had an Old Navy coupon and found tons on their website for like $7 (each). Add that to my Pinterest Fashion board (noodles2245 if you want to follow) and I needed some new pieces for the cooler weather. It was ALL shirts to go with my sweaters and pants. I already have the shoes. So now I should be good to go.
Still waiting on the Sephora order. Um, $6 UD shadows. YES Please!
I did a short run to day to test out how the foot/PF was feeling. It felt normal after the run and continued to feel normal throughout the day. I think I dodged a bullet there.
Run: 4 miles/46:31
The rest of the day was spent running errands, putzing around the house and cooking dinner. And for some reason, I COULDN’T STOP eating. Oh well, some days are like that.
Since it was a consume-fest, I am not sure I can even list it all here. I know I had coffee and a protein bar, a piece of cinnamon toast, a peach, chicken sausage and a baked potato, carrots, snack mix, jambalaya, a mich ultra and some ice cream. I am not even sure that is all of it!
I filled out my election ballot yesterday. First time voting in Arizona!
