Thursday: A is for Gummi’s

The new 3 became the old 3.  Again.  Nothing on this mornings run felt right.  Nothing hurt, but nothing felt good either.  Just awkward, no pace, no rhythm, etc.  At one point I thought I was FLYING!  And when I looked at my Garmin, it was slower than my long run pace.  I even walked.  Quite a bit.  I have no issue with walking.  Sometimes, it is what the body needs.  So back to the new 3 tomorrow.  I am still on target with this weeks plan.

3.0 miles / 41:00 min (or something like that)

This morning featured overnight oats with strawberries!  I like this combo better than the raspberries.  I would rather just eat the raspberries than put them in the oats.

Then there was chicken sausage and veggie sticks for lunch.

The afternoon was a disaster with carrots, a peach and snack mix (Animal crackers, almonds, cashews and Reese’s Pieces).  I took an extra bike ride (4.5 miles in 25 minutes) to compensate.

Dinner was boring chicken and yellow rice.

Let’s talk gummi bears.  If you have seen my few-and-far-between movie reviews, you might have guessed I have a thing for gummi bears.  But not all gummi bears. That’s right, I am a gummi bear bigot.  THE gummy bears are called Albanese gummi bears.  If you can’t tell the brand in your local store, look for the A on their stomach.

See the A?

I have been ordering the Albanese Gummi Bears from Amazon at $9.55 for 1.5 lbs.  I have enjoyed this method of gummi bear purchase because I can purchase the flavors I want (pineapple, cherry and orange) and leave behind the ones I don’t want (lime, lemon, grape).  BUT, at our local Sprouts store, they had these on sale, the ALBANESE GUMMI BEARS, for $1.49 per lb. WTF.  Now, it is the 12 flavor blend, but who the hell cares at $1.49 per lb.

That is my gummi bear story.  Everyone start looking for the A on the gummi stomachs and run to your local Sprouts.

I got to attend a virtual wine night with my girlfriend back in NC tonight.  YEA, SKYPE!  It was great.  Just one small glass of wine.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.
