Food Friday: Excess Inventory

When we decided to put the house on the market, our realtor told us to “bake cookies” before showings to make the house smell good.  And leave the cookies out for the potential buyers and agents.  And then people would want to live here.  I didn’t have time to bake cookies EVERY time the house was going to be shown, so I came up with the best solution I could.

I made several different types of cookie dough and froze it.  Before each showing, I would thaw out a handful of cookies and throw them in the oven.  I made little signs of what kinds of cookies they were and left them out with water and granola bars.  People seemed to like.

But the house was only shown about 5 times before we got the offer.  And two of those where when we were away.  So now I have all of this cookie dough left in the freezer!  Some will be made to take in the car with us. Others need to go sooner.

I am also going to be making pumpkin bread to use up some flour and canned goods.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.
