Food Friday: Stockpiles
Everyone once in a while around here, I get into “use it up mode.” I look in my cabinets and think how I have ridiculous amounts of food stored in there.. And yes, I am lucky to have HUGE amounts of cabinet space. So then I go into “use it up” mode.
Do I really need 5 boxes of spaghetti? Or 4 jars of spaghetti sauce? Well, maybe. But not right now.
The thing that is putting me into this mode right now is a bunch of banana’s that has been sitting on the counter. They are getting nice and ripe. And will soon, sometime this weekend, be made into mini banana breads. Which will also use up some butter (bought at Costco) and flour. So it is a win-win.
I also have two huge jars of crunchy peanut butter (Costco), which is overkill. The person in this house who eats crunchy peanut butter only does so about once every 6 months. So why the huge jars? Guess I will have to help. And cans of ravioli. Those will need to be pulled down from the top shelf for better visibility.
Two things I can absolutely NOT run out of is half and half and carrots
