Food Friday: Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte

Today is a special occasion and I wanted to make something special to go with it.

I have made the Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte once before and it was well worth the trouble.

First, you make an Oreo cookie Crust.

Then you make a mixture of mini chocolate chips, peanuts, cinnamon, espresso powder, and nutmeg.

The homemade whipped cream is hard to get from the mixer to the fridge without a small sample.

The cream cheese and peanut butter whipped together is smooth and creamy.  Then you fold in some of the whipped cream to lighten it.  Add the chocolate chip mixture, more peanuts, the rest of the whipped cream and smooth all of that over the Oreo cookie crust.  Let that set.  Later, I will  melt the remaining chocolate with the last of the cream to make a ganache.  Pour it over the top.  Sprinkle with more peanuts and let that set.

Carefully remove the springform pan (to be done later) and VOILA!

If I can remember, I will put pictures of the finished product out here tomorrow.  Hope you enjoy!  I know I will.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.
