Regarding: Research

Amazon.com: Dyson DC28 Animal: Home & KitchenI spent the afternoon going from store to store to store comparing vacuum cleaners.  With the Consumer Reports ratings in my hand.  Isn’t that EXCITING!

Our vacuum cleaner is on its last legs.  It has been a good vacuum and served us well for over 5 years.  I have always wanted a Dyson. Now is my chance.  Maybe.

What do you use?  Is a Dyson worth the $$?  We have 2 dogs, 3 cats and a mix of rugs and laminate floors.

Mood is good.  Had a work presentation this morning and it went very well.

Food:  Had a protein bar for breakfast.  Leftover Tortilla Soup and a few chips for lunch.  Strawberries.  An apple.  Pork chops for dinner.

Fitness:  I seem to be experiencing an IT Band issue.  So I am crosstraining this week.  Did 30 minutes on the bike for a little over 8 miles.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.

  1. We have a Sebo;…it’s German. I nearly puked when we spent that much for a vacuum, but my husband would not be dissuaded despite my 15 year old dirt devil doing just fine. This IS awesome, I’ll admit it now. I go from floor to area rug with no problem, no waiting. And it is fun to leave the vacuum 4″ away from cat hair and watch it pick it up. When doing a test at a store, take YOUR animals’ fur and rub it into the sample carpet deep.

  2. I LOVE our Dyson. I was very very hesitant for years about them, but I knew enough people who really believed in them. I love it. It does everything they say it does. our carpets are old and full of dust of ages and of course our dogs shed a LOT. It picks it up well. totally worth the money. Best vacuum I’ve ever owned.

Brenda’s suggestion about their fur is a good idea. I still use a sticky sheet for the fur on the sofas, but it will vacuum much of it up and I use the vacuum for inside the sofas.
