Regarding: Whiplash

someecards.com - Thanks for not laughing at my absurdly unattainable New Year's resolutionsThis is the time of year when I look back and then I look forward.  What did I resolve to do in 2011 and did I do it?  What do I resolve to do in 2012?  And a new one for me this year, HOW am I going to do it?

In 2011, I had time goals for both a 5k and a Half Marathon.  While I didn’t meet the time goals, I did PR at the 5k distance. Not so much with the Half Marathon (PR is still Vegas in Dec of 2010). I said I was going to spend less and while I can’t prove it, I know I didn’t meet that one.  I was going to swear less.  Maybe.  And I was going to read more.  WE HAVE A WINNER!

I read 20 books in 2011.  And I know that because they are all on my Kindle.  I plan to continue this in 2012.  Another one for me in 2012 is to stop stockpiling food. And I am off to a great start.  Pasta is on sale this week.  But did I run to the store to stock up?  NO!  When I NEED pasta, I will put it on the grocery list. I am going to run outside more/less treadmill.  And again, spend less.

Progress already.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.
