Our Version of Hitchcock….

We finally made it through the 2nd round of Christmas with my in-laws.  I am not going to lie and say it was a happy time. They are not always the easiest people to be around. But we did the best we could and tried to be festive.

This year’s in-law Christmas, for me, had a theme. This is based on some years where things went more than a little off track. So a theme actually worked well.  For whatever random reason, I have found that I like watching and feeding the birds in my backyard.  So the theme was birds.  And Michael was the supervisor of the theme to be sure things didn’t deteriorate into bird statues and decorations.  He did a FANTASTIC job.

I can’t wait to put my new feeder in the backyard (and fill the others).

Later today is packet pickup for our Run Under the Lights at midnight (think running 5.5K through a drive-thru Christmas light display).  And we are going to hit the mall for some after Christmas Sale shopping (Teavana, Charming Charlies and the traditional calendar selection).

What are your New Years Plans?

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.
