Travel Tuesday: Rental Cars

Hotmail - - Windows LiveSo our Christmas trip is finally settled and I had to just get over the airfare.  Good thing too cause it just keeps getting worse.

The next step was the rental car.  I am a FIRM believer in priceline for rental cars.  I have NO loyalty to any particular rental company and all I want is a Nissan Versa P.O.S to drive around while I am out there.

So I lowball priceline.  Rejected.  Next day they send me the usual “it has been 24 hours since your last bid” email and I bid again. $1 over my first lowball offer.  No such luck.  But then I have hooked THEM.  They say, if you would just raise your price by a few more dollars, you win a car.  And since a few more dollars over the next few days is what is going to happen anyway, I just take the offer priceline gave me.  And end up with Budget and a Versa (or similar) P.O.S.

Let’s hear it for happy endings.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.
