Weekend Recap…

There is almost nothing to recap from this weekend.

How can I say that?  Michael ran the NC Half Marathon on Saturday and KICKED ASS with a 2:37.  On a killer, HILLY course.  Way to go Michael!

Other than that, there is nothing to recap.  I am in a sort of post-race blues.  My next half is in Feb.  That much I know. And I also know that I want to train harder, and differently, than I did for this past race.  I found a program through Runners World that includes speedwork, tempo runs and sprints.  The overall weekly mileage is higher than what I have trained at before.  So I need a few weeks of base building before I start the actual program.  Which is perfect since I have 14 weeks and the program is 9 weeks.

My personal focus is shifting towards the more intense training and the right eating/nutrition to support the plan.  Which, for those reading this, will mean an uptick in posts about workouts and food and fewer posts about what I baked.  Boo.  I will still bake but will have to find a way to give more of it away.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.
