Weekend Recap

Well, there isn’t much to recap from this weekend.  And by the time you read this, we should be on the road.  So definitely more exciting stuff coming from the beach!

Vacation prep really.  Friday night, the Hurricanes got their asses handed to them by the Capitals.  And unfortunately the same thing happened Sunday with the Dallas Stars.

I baked the two sets of cookies I mentioned on Friday.  You can read it here.  The Chocolate Dipped Coconut Macaroons and the Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chip cookies.  After making those two sets I decided not to make the Sticky Finger Bars.  But you will see them soon.

I am officially in my “taper” and hating it.  I did 5 miles on Saturday.  On the treadmill.  Trying to get some muscle memory of my race pace.  More on that here.  Along with all of our errands.

Then Sloth Sunday felt a bit like cheating since I didn’t have a long run to recovery from.   I did more packing and prepping for the trip to the beach.  Then hockey and home for more of the same.  Read it here.

I just want to run the race already!  But there should be some relaxing days between now and then!

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.
