Regarding: Oops

I was so excited to see this, my FAVORITE soup at Costco the other day.  I snatched it up, took a quick look at the NI and thought it wasn’t too bad.  So the cute little containers came home with me.

Yesterday, I thought wouldn’t that soup be just great for lunch.  So I pulled it out of the fridge and for some reason, looked at the NI again.  Oops.  Do you see the mistake I made?  Does it jump out to you like it did to me the second time I looked.  5 SERVINGS IN THAT ONE CONTAINER. At 280 calories a serving (or something close to that).  And I could easily eat the entire container.  It is really not that big.

That is more than just an indulgence on a long run day.  Even if I had the extra calories to spend, would I want to spend them all on a bowl of soup?  It makes me wonder about the NI from the restaurant itself.  Have I been underestimating this while time?

The pictures are horrible and I apologize.  I am up early on this Saturday morning to go do a long run.  The plan was for 12, but due to some foot issues it may be cut short.  I am going to see how it goes.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.

  1. I’ve done this with the fat free chocolate and corn muffins at ShopRite around here. the NI was for a serving of 1/2 muffin. They’re not HUGE muffins like you get in a deli or bakery….why on Earth would you eat 1/2 of one? 2 servings became totally not worth it for a fat free item.
