Regarding: Decorating

It is not often that I get into a “decorating” mood.  Our house is where we live and it feels “lived-in.”  It is not a museum where you can’t sit on anything (and put your feet on the coffee table) or touch anything.  But once in a blue moon, I go through a phase to get rid of the clutter and piles of stuff and jut want everything to look nice.

I seem to be in a fall/autumn/pumpkin phase.  I want everything to be decorated for “fall”, which to me would run from late August to Thanksgiving.  So a broader style than Halloween or Thanksgiving but can cover both.

Here is what the coffee table looked like before:

And the after:

I can almost guarantee that it won’t stay this way for long.  The first time Michael leaves a stack of whatever or the cat steals a pinecone, it will have to be rethought.

Off to hockey!  Mood Alert coming next.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.

  1. That looks great. i’m envious. We use our oversized ottoman as a sort of coffee table. I really need to get a tray for it. It winds up being a catch all for everything we’re reading on the sofa and sometimes mail.
