Salem Lake Trail Race: 7 Miler

There we go, in black!

There really wasn’t a single picture worth showing you of this mornings race.  Michael did his best, but it was pouring rain right before we started, misty the rest of the time, and MUDDY.  But I did my best.  They STILL have not posted actual results.  No matter what it says, I am a slow runner.  But I run anyway.

Then Michael surprised me and took me to see Moneyball!  If you like baseball, or Brad Pitt, it was good.  And most movies are worth the popcorn.

About nfoste2245

I am approaching 40 and have been married since my early 20's. I have become more than a little frustrated with having to answer incredibly personal questions about my choice to not have children. It is apparently taboo to talk about religion and politics, but confronting me about my reproductive choices is fair game. It is not a choice I made alone, quickly or lightly. My husband and I made it together. I am not "withholding" children or grandchildren from anyone. There is an astonishing lack of understanding over the idea that it is an actual choice, to have a child or not. There is also an amazing lack of support, discussion and resources for those like me, that have made the choice. This is not a blog for kid-haters, or mocking people for having kids. It is a place where we can talk about living full lives, without kids, and without guilt.

  1. At least you were out there running! Congrats on finishing the race 🙂 I have to remind myself of this quote sometimes so that I don’t get down on myself: “It doesn’t matter how slow you go, you’re still lapping everyone on the couch.” I probably walk faster than I run, but that doesn’t stop me. Ha! Planned on going out for a short 3 mile hike today, but it is pouring. I am a much bigger baby than you and refuse workout in the rain! Happy Sunday.

    • Thanks! I am grateful for every step I can take. I wouldn’t have started the race at all, but it wasn’t raining when I left the house. Started after we got there and I figured I was already up so might as well. 1:23:02 is the official time.
