Long Run Saturday and Cheese

Today’s long run is being replaced with my first attempt at Crossfit.  I am not sure what to expect.  Long Run will be 7 miles tomorrow.Has anyone ever seen Cities of the Underworld?  This is the cheesiest, piece of shit show on television.  There is always an “off-limits” tunnel that they are given special, exclusive access to.  And another that is “unstable” and could bring the whole place down.  It is ridiculous.  As I sit and listen to it playing in the other room, it just annoys me.

I don’t even know if this show is still on the air (History Channel) but let me save you the time.  DON’T BOTHER.  It is awful.

Food Friday: Stockpiles

Everyone once in a while around here, I get into “use it up mode.”  I look in my cabinets and think how I have ridiculous amounts of food stored in there.. And yes, I am lucky to have HUGE amounts of cabinet space.  So then I go into “use it up” mode.

Do I really need 5 boxes of spaghetti?  Or 4 jars of spaghetti sauce?  Well, maybe.  But not right now.

The thing that is putting me into this mode right now is a bunch of banana’s that has been sitting on the counter.  They are getting nice and ripe.  And will soon, sometime this weekend, be made into mini banana breads.  Which will also use up some butter (bought at Costco) and flour.  So it is a win-win.

I also have two huge jars of crunchy peanut butter (Costco),  which is overkill. The person in this house who eats crunchy peanut butter only does so about once every 6 months. So why the huge jars?  Guess  I will have to help.  And cans of ravioli.  Those will need to be pulled down from the top shelf for better visibility.

Two things I can absolutely NOT run out of is half and half and carrots

Daily Mood Alert and Food/Fitness: Thurs, May 24

Food:  Breakfast was coffee and a piece of coffee cake.  Lunch was tacquito’s, chips and salsa.  Then I had some snack mix and some carrots.  Dinner will be chicken and either rice or noodles.  And maybe some wine.

Fitness:  I went to the gym this morning with the intention of doing speedwork.  IT Band said NO WAY.  So then I got on the elliptical and got about 2 miles into a workout when a woman got on the machine next to me after apparently bathing in scented lotions and perfumes.  I left the elliptical with my nose stuffy and eyes watering.  So I stretched, did some foam rolling and was done. But now Michael wants to go to the gym tonight.  And I said OK, being supportive wife that I am.

So not only am I NOT avoiding the gym, I am going twice.  WAHOO!

Regarding: Crazy Sauce

someecards.com - Wait...are you telling me CrossFit doesn't involve beer before liquor?As you know, I am still working on my Faster 5k program.  I switched up the sessions a bit this week and should be doing speedwork today.  Tues turned into more of a tempo run.  So I will gear up and head to the gym for 8 x 400′s.

I am about to jump into the world of CrossFit.  Jenny won a month free and they gave her a second for a friend.  I immediately raised my hand.  TAKE ME.  TAKE ME.  So it is either tonight or Saturday morning.  it looks a little like crazy sauce to me, but it is free so why not.

What are your plans for the long weekend?  We have NONE.  That I know of.  Except for maybe a run.  And CrossFit.

Daily Mood Alert and Food/Fitness: Wed, May 23

AAAHHHHH!  I forgot about WIAW.  Oh well.  There was nothing at all interesting about what I ate yesterday.

Mood: Today is good.  Got through my work presentation.  Got prepped for tomorrow’s meetings.  And am playing tennis tonight, if the rain holds off.

Food:  I had 2 Greek twisty cookies and coffee for breakfast.  I had a turkey burger with guacamole and sweet potato fries for lunch.  With some ranch dressing for dipping.  And then the snacking began.  Choc chip cookies.  Carrots.  Snack mix .  Ugh.

Fitness:  I ran 3 miles this morning and have tennis tonight.  I will need ALL of that activity to make up for the snacking.  But we will eat after as well.
